Contraindications for Eximer Laser Correction
Eximer laser corrections are contraindicated if there are any eye diseases: cataract, glaucoma, eyelid inflammation.
Correction is contraindicated to the patients with progressive myopia. Patient should be satisfied with the same spectacle correction for at least year and a half before the operation. Otherwise first thing to do is to stop the progressive myopia.
Correction is not performed during pregnancy or in early post-delivery period, including breast-feeding and 2 months after.
Result of the operation is unpredictable if there is one of the systemic diseases:
- Diabetes;
- Bronchial asthma;
- Neurodermatitis;
- AIDS;
- Disposition to keloid scarring;
- Mental diseases.
Drugs and alcohol abuse are also considered as contraindications.
